Boys & Girls Clubs of Lincoln/Lancaster County (BGCL), an affiliate with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, is a comprehensive out-of-school provider designed to support youth in Lincoln. We provide a world-class Club Experience assuring success is within reach of every young person who enters our doors, with all members on track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future, demonstrating good character and citizenship, and living healthy lifestyles.

CASA for Lancaster County

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) for Lancaster County recruits, trains and supports community volunteers who advocate for the best interests of abused, neglected, truant and ungovernable children and youth in Juvenile Court. CASA volunteers get to know the children and the circumstances that brought them into the system and then they write reports with recommendations that are sent directly to the judge.

Food Fort

Food Fort uses food as our avenue to develop relationships and consistency with under-resourced youth within our community. Through relationships we have designed programming to address the deeper needs of these youth, such as education and emotional/social skills.

Girls Inc. of Lincoln

The Girls Inc. of Lincoln Eureka! Program is a 5-year STEM program serving young women from 8th to 12th grade, empowering young women – in a safe, pro-girl environment – to pursue careers in STEM. In their 1st and 2nd summers, Eurekans’ attend a 4-week camp in July on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus. In their 3rd and 4th summers, they will participate in a 4-week paid STEM externship.

Our Mentorship Program connects small teams of volunteers to local refugees for friendship and community. Teams may assist with various needs, provide an opportunity to learn life skills to thrive in America, provide mentorship, share meals, or celebrate holidays together. Mentoring Plus helps youth to graduate from high school and college. Mentoring Plus provides youth with opportunities to learn specific academic, emotional and social skills, along with career networking and other “soft skills” needed in the workforce.

TeamMates of Lincoln

TeamMates Mentoring matches an adult volunteer to meet with a student in grades 3-12 weekly to help them realize their strengths, develop hope for their future, and simply listen. Matches are made thoughtfully, based on common interests and the mentor’s choice of school and/or grade level. Visits last one class period and only take place at the school.

The Bay

The Bay, a facility located at 2005 Y Street in Lincoln, works with underserved and misfit youth via public drop-in hours and LPS after school clubs, offering engagement in the countercultures of skateboarding, music, and digital media.

Visionary Youth

Visionary Youth has been providing services to youth and their families through the barbershop community since 2012. Its mission is to impact families and change lives by supporting youth to reach their full potential. The Mentoring in New Dimensions (MIND) Program is a combination barbershop mentoring and peer group counseling program designed to support minority youth to build confidence and peer support toward goals; build leadership, problem- solving, and social skills; celebrate and be celebrated for their achievements; and build networks of support that last.

YMCA of Lincoln-Northeast

Teen Night is a free event for teens (ages 12-15) to spend supervised time at the Northeast YMCA playing basketball, swimming, playing games, and connecting with community resources. Teen Night is open to both Y Members and Community Members.

YWCA Lincoln CATCH Life skills

CATCH is a mentorship and leadership program catching high school girls in the midst of adolescent growth, gearing them towards the direction of becoming more confident and aware of life skills leading to success in everyday life as a young adult. This program focuses on empowering and encouraging young girls to become more aware of their capabilities.
